Miss World 2023 To Take Place In India
The Republic of India is set to host the Miss World 2023 competition after nearly three decades. The much anticipated 71st edition of Miss World will take place in November. However, the final dates are not known yet.
Julia Morley, an English businesswoman and the chairperson and CEO of the Miss World organization, said, “The 71st Miss World 2023 will showcase the achievements of 130 National champions in their one-month journey across 'Incredible India' as we present the 71st and most spectacular Miss World final ever.”
Miss World 2023 will feature contestants from more than 130 countries. The series of competitions will feature talent shows, fashion shows, sports challenges, and charitable initiatives. Karolina Bielawska of Poland will crown her successor at the 71st edition of the Miss World pageant.
Miss World Karolina Bielawska and Julia Morley arrived in New Delhi, the capital of India, on Thursday to attend the inaugural press meet. Julia Morley said, "I am delighted to announce India as the new home of the 71st Miss World Final! I have had a great affection for India from the first moment I visited this incredible country more than 30 years ago!”
The reigning Miss World, Karolina Bielawska of Poland, said, “I am so excited to meet all my sisters across the world to welcome them to India to show them what India truly stands for, what India is, what is the diversity in India.”
India last hosted Miss World in 1996. The country has also produced a lot of Miss World winners. Reita Faria Powell, Aishwarya Rai, Diana Hayden, Yukta Mookhey, and Priyanka Chopra from India have won the Miss World title.
Reportedly, Venezuela has also produced six Miss World winners: Carmen Susana Duijm Zubillaga, PilÃn León, Astrid Carolina Herrera, Ninibeth Beatriz Leal Jiménez, Jacqueline MarÃa Aguilera Marcano and Ivian Sarcos.
