UAE President Receives Humanitarian Award

The esteemed President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has been presented with the first ever Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) Global Humanitarian Personality Award. Such an honor is for his distinguished humanitarian leadership that can be expressed in the course of several decades.

Heik Mohamed was shielded with the praises in the Plenary Session of PAM at its 18th session held at Braga, Portugal on may 15th, 2024. Thus, it was no wonder that he was the first person to get this award in recognition of his extraordinary work and long-standing leading role in the organized response to different crises that resulted in safety, shelter, and proper nutrition for disaster-affected communities all around the globe.

As an authority figure in the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed wasn't only guiding the country but also the country's philanthropy initiatives that had been in front of others. Projects both present and future fall under this umbrella, such as the launch last year of the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Initiative for a whopping AED 20 Billion on the 20th anniversary of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's eternal legacy. The Initiative’s mission is to realize behavioral transformation and improve livability with a particular focus on vulnerable people worldwide by the year 2040.

Also, UAE made the global community handle the coronavirus pandemic through Hope Consortium, allowing counties around the world to administer billions of shots. Internationally and regionally, $6,000,000,000 in aid have been contributed by the EU towards nations caught up in armed conflicts and crisis situations as is the case with Syria and Yemen since 2015.

Mrs Enaam Mayara, PAM President, gave an accolade to Sheikh Mohamed, saying that he has devoted himself for decades without even tiring to humanitarian work and security affairs throughout the world. The title symbolizes that he personifies compassion and a determined effort to eradicate suffering which has been his signature life-long theme that will continue to inspire future generations.
