Honoring Compassion and Commitment: AIM India Forum Recognized for Outstanding Service to Indian Community in UAE

In a heartwarming recognition of selfless service, the Consulate General of India in Dubai recently honored AIM India Forum with an Appreciation Award for its remarkable contribution to the Indian community in the UAE. This accolade celebrates the Forum's unwavering dedication to assisting distressed Indian nationals during the UAE Government’s Amnesty Initiative launched in September 2024.

A Mission of Hope and Humanity

The UAE Government introduced the Amnesty Initiative to uphold the principles of law, tolerance, compassion, and social cohesion. AIM India Forum was invited by the Indian Consulate to collaborate in this humanitarian effort. Rising to the occasion, the Forum’s Founder President, Shirali Shaikh Muzaer, along with board member Mohammad Niyaz, dedicated four months of tireless service to this noble cause. Their efforts were supported by prominent community organizations, including Dubai KMCC, IPF, FOI UAE, and others.

Bridging the Gap: Amnesty Help Desk at the Indian Consulate

Recognizing the urgency and complexity of the situation, the Indian Consulate in Dubai, with AIM India Forum and other diaspora organizations, established an Amnesty Help Desk. This initiative provided crucial support services at no cost, including:

Issuance of emergency certificates (one-way travel documents)

Labor cancellation assistance

Case clearance facilitation

Issuance of exit permits and outpasses

The impact was profound. Through this initiative, the Consulate General of India successfully assisted 15,000 Indian nationals, issuing 2,117 passports, 3,589 emergency certificates, and securing over 3,700 exit permits. Many individuals also received vital support in obtaining fee and penalty waivers from UAE authorities, easing their path to legal repatriation.

Unwavering Support from the Community and UAE Government

The relentless efforts of AIM India Forum and other diaspora organizations did not go unnoticed. His Excellency Satish Kumar Sivan, the Consul General of India in Dubai, personally acknowledged and congratulated Shirali Shaikh Muzaer and Mohammad Niyaz for their instrumental role in this initiative. Their dedication ensured the safe return of stranded Indian nationals and strengthened the bond between the Indian expatriate community and the UAE Government.

A Legacy of Service and Gratitude

As this humanitarian operation concludes, AIM India Forum expresses its deepest gratitude to the UAE Government for its steadfast support and commitment to social welfare. The Forum also extends heartfelt appreciation to the countless volunteers from Indian diaspora organizations who played a pivotal role in making this initiative a resounding success.

This recognition is not just an award—it is a testament to the power of compassion, unity, and collective action. AIM India Forum remains committed to serving the Indian community, reinforcing the values of solidarity and humanitarianism that form the foundation of its mission.
