Iran could strike Trump at his Florida mansion — official warns
Iran has issued a threat to U.S. President Donald Trump, warning that he could be assassinated via drone strike while relaxing at his Florida mansion, Mar-a-Lago.
The warning was delivered by Javad Larijani, a senior advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, weeks after a devastating 12-day war between Iran and Israel — a conflict the U.S. later joined on the side of Israel.
In a statement published by Iran International, Larijani said:
“Trump has done something that he can no longer sunbathe in Mar-a-Lago. As he lies there with his stomach to the sun, a small drone might hit him in the navel. It’s very simple.”
The fiery threat follows reports that American forces joined Israel in attacking military and nuclear targets deep inside Iran, prompting widespread anger in Tehran.
Trump, who gave the go-ahead for U.S. involvement in the strikes, has become a renewed target for Iran’s ruling elite — with rhetoric reaching an all-time high.
Earlier, Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi, a top Iranian cleric, had already issued a fatwa declaring Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “enemies of God.” He urged Muslims around the world to unite against both leaders, describing any support for them as haram (forbidden).
“It is necessary for all Muslims around the world to make these enemies regret their words and mistakes,” the cleric declared.
The remarks have sent shockwaves through international circles, particularly as Iran recovers from its recent aerial conflict with Israel and the U.S.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu is in the U.S. for the third time since Trump’s return to office in January. He told reporters that their latest meeting focused on securing the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza and discussing the aftermath of what he described as “a great victory over Iran.”
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Netanyahu confirmed that he and Trump had also discussed ongoing ceasefire talks with Hamas. The discussions are reportedly nearing a breakthrough after 21 months of bloody war in Gaza.
Steve Witkoff, Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, said that negotiators had narrowed down sticking points from four to one — fuelling optimism that a temporary truce could be reached by the end of the week.
